Obviously, budget Malaysia 2012 is the preparation for early polls after read through those highlighted points. The budget is focusing on retaining BN core voter, i.e. civil servants (by giving them increment), police/army (special funds), youth group (by allocating the budget in construction & improvement of school ), lower level income group (for salary less thsn RM3k, rm500 one-off cash handout).
Saw a comment from political analyst Ong Kian Ming, he pointed that the budget seemed to have left out the middle class group, as middle class is generally known not to support BN.
**Yes, we are from middle class group. :p
Didn't see any reduction in personal or company income tax. Guess it doesn’t specifically help BN in getting more votes. However, RPGT increase to 10% for the property sell within 2 years to help reduce property speculation.
Another 51 “1 Malaysia Health Clinic” will be built. Do they have the qualified doctor in all 51 health clinics? Or just build the clinic for the sake of getting more votes? In addition to that, budget will be allocated in upgrading/constructing General Hospital and rural health clinics. Obviously, they're also targeting rural areas now..
There is another ‘’SME Revitalisation Fund” which offering loan of up to RM1 million for entrepreneurs. However, I am not sure what are the criterias for applying this fund. Let’s see whether it will still be “1 Malaysia”. :p
The budget showed that , in year 2012, country deficit will be reduced from 5.4% to 4.7% (after spending RM232.8billion o.O).
Overall, there is no surprise on the budget 2012. We don’t see huge budget allocated to country development (such as more subsidies for special industries / pioneer, increase tax for oil industry in order to reduce the country deficit, platform for FDI), instead, most of the spending is focus on "Malaysian" especially civil servants.
Budget, is always tends to be over-optimistic.
